I haven’t had the chance to see Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland film just yet but those that have, are raving about it. Everyone seems to love a bit of Alice and that is extending to jewellery.

I always love opening the paper on the weekend but I love it even more when a pair of Lydia Jewels earrings are staring back at me. This weekend just gone (Saturday 27th February) Good Weekend magazine in the SMH featured the Kristie earrings. Since then they have been flying out the door, and why wouldn’t they? This weekend just gone (February 13th) Good Weekend magazine in the Sydney Morning Herald featured a Lydia Jewels headband. I made this headband purely for the magazine, it is made with sequinned white flowers and a gold elastic band. It was a one off. We have been inundated with orders for it. I am trying to source the materials to make more. What it has taught me though is that girls are loving headbands, so please stay tuned for a micro collection of headbands shortly.

I feel very honoured to have been interviewed recently by Beauty and Lace, an amazing online magazine. I feel even more honoured to have then been asked to talk about my apartment. I love my apartment and take great pride in keeping it looking good. I get very excited about discovering unusual nik naks and adding them to my home. You will also see how addicted to shoes I am.

Fashion Editor Amber Renae of Project Runway fame approached Lydia to create some pieces to suit her story. The big ball bracelets and silver necklace are very different to the usual Lydia Jewels style but still a lot of fun to design and make.

This week’s 9to5 magazine features the Kate earrings in red. Orders have come flooding in and what a treat to find them on sale. Originally $91 they are currently $40. A saving of $51. I was so flattered to have been asked to be the guest judge in Who Magazine for their feature “Who Got It Right?”. I’m often told I am very critical of celebrities’ dress sense so this was a dream come true to be able to do it for work. See the pics below:

Today’s Sunday Life magazine saw Lydia Jewels’ Linda necklace in good company. The feature was called ‘Rainbow Connection’. Stylist, Thelma McQuillan says “Don’t disappear into the dark – florals, feathers and jewels can brighten up any day”

She is right! Lydia Jewels current collection, A Rose Is A Rose, is full of flowers and colour. The brighter the better.
