Wow what a week. Rosemount Australian Fashion Week was an absolute blast !

Lydia Jewels had a stand in Emerge. Emerge is the ultimate accessories destination located in the busy hub of RAFW at The Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT), Circular Quay. Less than 50 handpicked designers were showing jewellery, handbags, shoes and accessories such as belts, scarves, sunglasses. I feel very honoured that Lydia Jewels was amongst those chosen to show.

The week was long, starting at 9am and finishing at 930pm. Repeat this for another five days and you have a lot of exhausted but excited people.

I was really happy with the amount of visitors we had to the Lydia Jewels stand, these included new media I hadn’t met, girls from magazines I have already worked with and will continue to do so, bloggers, national buyers, national agents and international buyers and agents. I also had a few celebrities pop by and have a look.

We were lucky to be in the best spot right at the front of the exhibitors, next to the bar, so we spent much of the week watching fashionista’s trot past in their heels. I am a huge fan of people watching and this was the ultimate place to do it.

As some of you know I am also a fashion stylist so was able to escape the stand occasionally and attend some shows. I saw Aurelio Costerella, Manning Cartell, Nookie, Anna and Boy, Woman’s Ready to Wear (keep an eye out for Sally Koeswanto – she will be huge), Kooey, Ms Couture and Ruby Smallbone. Highlight shows for me were Nicola Finetti, Rachel Gilbert, Michael Lo Sordo and Swim Fashion Week, in particular Lisa Maree who sent the Bondi Lifeguards down the catwalk.

A huge thank you goes to my amazing full time assistant Nicole and the 3 fabulous work experience girls I had this week – Ashleigh, Amanda and Sarah. They kept me sane and topped up with Rosemount wine.

Rather than boring you anymore, I’ll say the rest with images …

Yesterday I was stoked to find out that Polkadot Bride had written a lovely article about Lydia Jewels new Bridal jewellery. See it here

It is very fitting since I was at Sun Studios shooting the new collection and the Bridal range look books.

The new collection is called Sunset Boulevard and is full of oranges, pinks, corals, turquoises and blacks. I am really excited about this collection and hope you all will be too. I have spent this afternoon editing the final choices with Andrew and am absolutely thrilled with our results.

The Bridal collection is made using Swarovski crystals, faux pearls and vintage treasures.

Below are some pics of us hard at work and some sneak peaks into the two collections. The team was:
